Bhubaneswar boys and girls asserted their supremacy, bagging 13 out of 26 titles in the 23rd State Sub-junior, Junior and Cadet Karate Championship, which concluded at Utkal Katate School in Bhubaneswar today. Around 400 karatekas from 20 districts took part in the two-day championship, which was conducted by Orissa State Karate-do Association. Sports Minister P C Bhanjadeo gave away prizes at the closing function.
TITLE WINNERS:
Sub-junior: D Bennyhin (u-7 boys kata), Simone Singh (u-7 girls kata), Kamalesh Ray (u-9 boys kata and kumite), Sunayana Sahu (u-9 girls kata and kumite), Anirudh Pratap Singh (u-11 boys kata and kumite), Payal Baral (u-11 girls kata and kumite), Abhishek Pattnaik (u-13 boys kata and kumite), Somu Naik (u-13 girls kata and kumite).
Junior: Nihar Ranjan Swain (u-15 boys kata), Dillip Behera (u-15 boys kumite), Asmita Priyadarshini (u-15 girls kata), Anjali Yadav (u-15 girls kumite), Debabrata Yadav (u-17 boys kata), Sameer Sanu Dalai (u-17 boys kumite), Samapika (u-17 girls kata), Sujata Sahu (u-17 girls kumite).
Cadet: Raj Narayan Khuntia (u-20 boys kata), Dillip Kumar Jena (u-20 boys kumite), Sangeet S Mallick (u-20 girls kata), Anupama Swain (u-20 girls kumite).
